I grew up in the small village of Chamita, just north of the Española Valley, surrounded by a large, loving family where hospitality was simply a way of life. My grandfathers tended gardens and livestock, while my grandmothers filled the kitchen with fresh tortillas, beans, and chile. From them, I learned that sharing a meal and welcoming both family and strangers is one of life’s greatest expressions of love. Those humble beginnings continue to shape who I am today.

As a child, I was drawn to old films like Casablanca, the music of Billie Holiday, and the romantic worlds of writers like Ernest Hemingway. While studying abroad in Sevilla, Spain, I discovered the joy of opening a bottle of wine simply to celebrate an ordinary Tuesday. That experience sparked a lifelong passion for wine, its stories, and the people who dedicate their lives to making it.

Since then, I’ve been captivated by wine’s remarkable diversity and deep connection to the land. Every vintage, every vineyard, and every grower reminds me that there is always more to learn. I remain committed to approaching this craft with curiosity, humility, and gratitude.

My career has taken me from New Mexico to California, where I’ve been fortunate to work as a bartender, a sommelier, and, most importantly, a friend. Muse is an extension of those experiences—a company built on family, friendship, thoughtful hospitality, and a profound respect for the people who farm the land.

To me, Muse is simple: happiness that doesn’t have a hangover.
